ABOUT ME
Employing the creative process to restore your personal well being.
As a teen, art was a guiding force in my life, having used art for my own personal well-being and having worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art through my teen years and into adulthood; I instinctually knew art expression was a powerful tool. When I learned of the art therapy profession I knew that I would become an art psychotherapist.
I work in both inpatient and out patient settings, currently providing supervision to art therapist newly in the field and art psychotherapy to adults and pediatrics in a hospital setting. I work with children, adolescents and adults who seek to develop and implement tools in coping with stressors, managing anxiety, depression, trauma and navigating through periods of transition. I utilize art psychotherapy to integrate mind and body, explore emotions, express thoughts and feelings. Being a women of color, of Caribbean, West Indian decent and a first generation American, I often can relate to those coping with acculturation while also offering a broad range of mental health services. |
